*Everglades Birdfest*
Everglades National Park
January, three day event

Participants meet in Fort Lauderdale and are transported by bus to the Everglades, birding along the way. There are guided walks and tours, speakers, and optional guided and unguided activities. Advance registration is required. The Everglades Birdfest site includes information about past and upcoming fests, detailed schedules and online registration. Sponsored by the Broward County Audubon Society.
*Southwest Florida Birding Festival*
Rookery Bay, Naples
January, three day event

Registration required for some activities. Check out last year's festival and watch for details to be announced by the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
*Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival*
January, six day event

Exhibit area (artists, crafters, businesses, and organizations), pelagic trip to the Gulf Stream, workshops, seminars, field trips, and special activities for kids. Many activities are free. The Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival site includes detailed information about previous and upcoming festivals. Sponsored by the Brevard Nature Alliance.

*Lake Apopka Wildlife Festival & Birdapalooza*
February 5-7

Features exploration of a newly opened birding hot spot, the 20,000-acre Lake Apopka North Shore, with a full-day trip and two half-day trips led by well-known local birding guides, and the free family-oriented Birdapalooza festival. *Birds of a Feather Fest*
City of Palm Coast
February, three day event

Birding, workshops, presentations, kayak trips and family activities. Geared for serious birders as well as beginners, paved trails are accessible to children and those with disabilities. Offering thirty-two birding trips and classes, to such outstanding birding spots as Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Princess Place Preserve. *Burrowing Owl Festival*
Cape Coral
February, one day event

Bus and nature tours, presentations, and artisans. Sponsored by Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife.
*Orlando Wetlands Park Festival*
February, one day event

*Pelican Island Wildlife Festival*
March, one day event

The birthday celebration for Pelican Island and the National Wildlife Refuge System includes boat and kayak tours, a photography contest, a kayak poker run and a 5k (land) run, and activities for kids. *Gainesville "Old Florida" Birding and Nature Festival*
April, three day event

Bird and nature photography tours to local springs and the Suwanee, Santa Fe and Ocklawaha Rivers, tours of the museum's butterfly rainforest and Lubee Bat Conservancy, a sunset tour of Lake Alice and the University of Florida bat houses, as well as lectures and an introduction to birding. St. Augustine
April, four day event

*Florida Keys Birding & Wildlife Festival*
September/October, six day event

Signature events include an excursion to Dry Tortugas National Park, guided bird and butterfly walks, wildlife photography workshops, a wildlife fair, the Florida Keys Hawkwatch, sunset sails and boat trips into the backcountry. October, three day event
